Introducing the story lab workshop

At Pink Reed Books, we believe everyone has a story worth telling. That’s why we’ve launched Story Lab — a live, guided writing workshop for aspiring children’s book authors who want to go from idea to publish-ready draft in just 4 weeks.

Story Lab is a hands-on, sprint-style writing workshop designed for aspiring children’s book authors. Whether you’re working on a picture book, chapter book, or middle grade novel, this 4-class program (plus a bonus session) gives you the tools, support, and momentum to bring your story to life.

Co-led by author-educators Silpa Kona and Aditi Wardhan Singh, this beta workshop blends live instruction, peer collaboration, and expert feedback — all in a supportive, creative space.

Each week focuses on a core phase of the writing journey:

• Week 1: From Spark to Story Idea – Brainstorm meaningful themes, identify your reader, and workshop your best concept
• Week 2: Drafting the Heart of Your Story – Build compelling characters, structure your story arc, and write your first draft
• Week 3: Feedback & Revisions – Learn how to self-edit, give/receive peer feedback, and revise your draft with intention
• Week 4: Path to Publishing – Understand traditional vs. indie publishing, learn layout basics, and prep your next steps
• Bonus Class: Showcase & Q&A – Share your story, ask final questions, and celebrate your progress
